A True Representative of Women Empowerment: Nishi Singh

Nishi Singh is a multi dimensional artist and a true representative of women empowerment. She is a versatile singer who sings bhajans, ghazals, sufi and old Hindi songs. She has learnt music at Gandharva Mahavidaylaya. She treats late Pandit Jwala Prasad as her guru. Her strength is a stable and melodious voice with a great range. She has performed at various stages like Taj mahotsav in Agra, Diu Beach Festival, , Rose Festival Chandigarh, NZCC festival Chandigarh, Kumbh Mela Prayagraj, India Habitat Centre and Kamani Auditorium. Her first solo Mera Dil released by T Series in Feb 2019 was an instant hit. Presently she is working on a Punjabi song.

 

Nishi Singh is also an excellent painter. She has taught herself. She uses acrylic, oil and water colors on canvas as medium. Landscapes and real life scenes are her main subjects. She has participated in a number of exhibitions and auctions. Important exhibitions in which she participated are ICCR international exhibition, Exhibition at Art Mall Delhi, Exhibition at Philippines Embassy, India Art Festivals at Delhi and Mumbai, many exhibitions at India Habitat Center and Chandigarh. Her work has also been part of many prestigious art auctions esp India on Canvas  organised by Christie for Khushii.

 

Nishi Singh is a writer too. She has written extensively for many newspapers and magazines. Her command over Hindi language is superb. She has written travel column for a magazine from Delhi. She used to do interview of women achievers for the National Express newspaper. She has also written few unpublished poems.

 

She believes in the motto of giving back to the society. She established the Naad Foundation in 2008 to preserve and promote the rich cultural heritage of India. She has organized a number of music concerts of legendary artists in Delhi and Chandigarh. She has also organized a number of plays on socially relevant issues. Apart from this through Naad Foundation she has done a number of social activities like organizing health camps for the poor, the senior citizens and the policemen. During the Covid-19 pandemic, a large number of poor people were in distress due to strict lockdown. She did a tremendous work by providing tons of dry ration to the needy in various parts of Delhi. She also provided dry ration to the community langar being run by the Delhi police in many districts. The Naad Foundation also provided masks, sanitizers and face shields to the police personnel. It also gave large number of PPE suits to the National Institute of Tuberculosis in Mehrauli.

 

The latest feather in her cap is release on T-Series of a Punjabi song Soni Kudi sung by her. It has proved to be a big chartbuster with millions of views across platforms and digital libraries.
